About Jeffrey T. Bonk, DDS
Dr. Jeffrey T. Bonk has been transforming smiles in Barrington for more than 35 years. His passion for education, commitment, and community involvement have been key to our practice’s longevity. After graduating from the Loyola School of Dentistry in 1981, Dr. Bonk completed a graduate residency program at Loyola Hospital. There he gained advanced training in oral surgery, periodontics, and prosthodontics. In 1982, he opened our Barrington practice and joined the medical staff at Good Shepherd Hospital. Dr. Bonk believes that continuing education is paramount for success. He routinely attends high-level educational conferences around the world to learn from the world’s foremost leaders in dentistry. Additionally, he mentors dentists through educational programs and workshops, sharing his knowledge, experience, and expertise to other dentists seeking to grow in their understanding of the field. Dr. Bonk has been recognized nationally for his mentoring and teaching successes. He has been appointed Resident Faculty at Spear Education in Arizona, a world leader in continuing dental education. He travels to Arizona and teaches monthly workshops to dentists from around the world. He regularly publishes articles about restorative dentistry and produces instructional video modules covering various dental issues. Dr. Bonk has been awarded the title of Pankey Scholar from the Pankey Institute. This has been awarded to fewer than 50 dentists from around the world and is presented to individuals who show a commitment to comprehensive, relationship-based dentistry. Dr. Bonk now holds a teaching position at the Pankey Institute. In this role, he emphasizes integrating interdisciplinary dentistry into general practice. In addition to this, Dr. Bonk teaches restorative dentistry at the Loyola general practice residency in Maywood, IL. There he enjoys the opportunity to work alongside the next generation of dental professionals. Our new partner, Dr. Matt Zielinski, was one of the students Dr. Bonk worked with through this program. Dr. Zielinski was hand-picked for his knowledge, skill, and positive personality. These traits will continue the tradition of personalized, comprehensive care that has been the cornerstone of the Barrington Dental Studio team’s philosophy. Dentistry is not simply a job to Dr. Bonk; it’s his passion. Though much of his time and energy is spent pursuing this passion, outside the practice he enjoys biking, hiking, golfing, and cooking. He and his wife, Christine, love traveling and spending time with their five children and six grandchildren.
