About Jay A. Werschky, DDS
Dr. Werschky is a native of Flint, Michigan. He graduated from Flint Northern High School in 1967 and received his undergraduate degree in biology at the University of Michigan – Flint. He continued his education at the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor, where he graduated with his Doctorate in Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) in 1976. Our dentist is committed to continuing his education and he takes about a course a month. Dr. Werschky stays current with the latest in dental technology. Our dentists are trained in laser dentistry the use of digital radiographs, and we use CariVu™ to scan teeth for decay. In July of 1976, Dr. Werschky returned to Flint to begin his dental practice. He is extremely involved in the dental community and served as President of the Michigan Dental Association from 1993-94. His involvement in the dental community also includes the American Dental Association Council on Dental Practice, state, and local peer review committees, and he has served as the Executive Director of the Genesee District Dental Society since 2007. In addition, Dr. Werschky is a fellow of both the American and International College of Dentists. Since there is no cookie cutter approach to dental care where “one size fits all,” Dr. Werschky’s goal is to provide personalized dental care in Grand Blanc. He would like everyone to attain and sustain a healthy mouth, whether it be through braces, cosmetics, or dentures, throughout their lifetime. In this day and age, there is no reason for a person not to have a great smile and a healthy mouth. We are also Certified Healthy Start providers which addresses Sleep Disordered Breathing and its oral ramifications on children’s oral development. The success of an office starts at the top with an educated, engaged, and committed dentist. Dr. Werschky’s practice has thrived because of the professionalism and skills of an energetic staff. We have a motto: “Don't practice until you get it right, practice until you can't get it wrong.” Dr. Werschky resides in Grand Blanc with his wife Jan. They have been married since 1971. He has two adult daughters, Jill and Jori, who both work in the practice. Jill is our office manager and Dr. Jori is a dentist. Dr. Jori has been in practice with Dr. Werschky since 2007. He is the proud papa of four adorable grandkids: Avery, Grant, Emmett, and Duncan. When not at the office, Dr. Werschky enjoys golf and he loves to read and travel. What consumes most of his free time is serving as the Executive Director of the Genesee District Dental Society.
