About Jay C. Grochmal, MD

Jay C. Grochmal, MD, is the experienced ophthalmologist at Grochmal Eye Center in Baltimore, where he has been providing exceptional eye care to the Washington, DC, metro area for more than 40 years. Dedicated to his profession, Dr. Grochmal is continually updating his skills so he can provide patients with the most advanced treatments available at his state-of-the-art practice. After earning his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Maryland in College Park, Dr. Grochmal went on to complete his internship at the United States Public Health Services Hospital in Baltimore. He then completed his ophthalmology residency and served as the chief resident at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center’s Department of Ophthalmology. Once he finished his residency, Dr. Grochmal opened his private practice and since then has improved the vision of thousands of patients. In addition to offering comprehensive eye exams and eye prescriptions, Dr. Grochmal also specializes in LASIK (laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis) eye surgery to help treat conditions like nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. He also continues to provide the safest and most advanced procedures for cataracts and glaucoma. Dr. Grochmal, a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, is currently on staff at some of the top hospitals in the Baltimore area, including Greater Baltimore Medical Center and St. Agnes Hospital. When he’s not helping improve eyesight for his patients in Baltimore, Dr. Grochmal spends his free time traveling as a medical missionary to offer his expertise to those in need across the globe.
