About Jang Chou, DDS
My name is Jang Chou, and I am a new partner at Downtown Dentistry. My brackground is in ‘Prosthodontics’, the field of dentistry devoted to dental implants, dentures, veneers, crown-and-bridge, cosmetic/aesthetic dentistry, and full mouth reconstruction. Over the past few years, I have been teaching clinically and pursuing advanced degrees from various universities. I have lived far south as Gainesville, FL (University of Florida College of Dentistry’14), and as far north as Milwaukee, WI (Marquette University School of Dentistry ’13). My clinical passion is in dental implants and full mouth reconstruction. One of my most challenging cases is a high school aged patient who had been congenitally missing most of his teeth and had severe bone loss. Since there was not enough bone in the jaw, we needed to utilize ‘zygomatic implants’, which are dental implants long enough to engage the cheek bone. Ultimately, we were able to provide this patient with full mouth implant supported fixed prostheses, and he is currently attending an Ivy League university. During my years in academia at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry and University of Missouri-Kansas City, I have had a mostly clinical role, taking care of any dental implant related complications in the student doctor clinic, but I am also interested in research and innovation.
