About James D. Salazar, DDS
Dr. James Salazar was born and raised in San Diego and graduated from San Diego State University and the University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry. He has been practicing general and cosmetic dentistry in San Diego since 1999. He takes great pride in his comprehensive, honest and perfectionistic approach to dentistry, caring for patients of all ages. Dr. Salazar earned Accreditation with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) in 2011, for his excellence in cosmetic dentistry on patient cases judged by his Accredited peers, an honor achieved by only 400 dentists worldwide. Through the AACD Accreditation process and his private practice patient cases, he has proven his exceptional skills at smile makeovers, cosmetic bonding, porcelain veneers and crowns, esthetic implant restorations and general dentistry. He is committed to continuing education in cosmetic, general and comprehensive advanced restorative dentistry. He keeps up with the latest technology and techniques to bring his patients the safest care and most effective results. As part of his educational pursuits, Dr. Salazar completed several levels at the Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, FL, where he studied occlusion and esthetics. He has also completed courses at the Annual Scientific Sessions with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) since 2006. He is a member of the San Diego Spear Study Club and the Spear Faculty Club at the prestigious Spear Education Center in Scottsdale, AZ, a center for comprehensive advanced dental education, where he has completed many courses. Dr. Salazar is a designated Invisalign Premier Provider, having completed more than 120 Invisalign cases. He enjoys working with patients through Invisalign treatment, straightening their teeth and enhancing their smiles with a more cosmetic alternative to braces. In addition to being an Accredited Member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) and a Faculty Club Member at the Spear Education Center, he is also a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the California Dental Association (CDA), the San Diego County Dental Society (SDCDS). Dr. Salazar lives in San Diego with his wife Dr. Marnie Schreiner, and their two children. He is an avid cyclist, mountain biker, motocross rider and enjoys snowboarding and golf.
