About James M. Mertz, DDS
Dr. James Mertz was raised in Frankenmuth, Michigan. He attended Albion College where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics. He then attended the University of Michigan School of Dentistry from 1986 to 1990, graduating in the top five of his class. He was inducted in the Omicron Kappa Upsilon academic honorary fraternity because of high academic achievement. Dr. Mertz continued his education at the University of Iowa where he received his Masters of Science in Prosthodontics from 1990-1992. Dr. Mertz opened his practice in Saginaw in July of 1992. He is a member of the American College of Prosthodontics and is a licensed specialist in Prosthodontics. Dr. Mertz is also a member of the American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, Saginaw Valley District Dental Society, and the Saginaw County Dental Society. Dr. Mertz was secretary of the Saginaw County Dental Society for 10 years. Dr. James and Andrea Mertz have been married since 1989. They have three daughters. He is an active member of St. Lorenz Lutheran Church and a small group Bible Study. Dr. Mertz enjoys reading, sports, hunting, and spending time with family on Lake Huron.
