About James M. Cooper, DDS
Dr. James M. Cooper earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Detroit and has been practicing dentistry in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan since 1984. Dr. Cooper’s training and certificates apply to all aspects of dentistry. He regularly attends postgraduate courses throughout the United States to stay educated on the latest techniques and procedures. Past extensive programs Dr. Cooper has graduated from are: the Misch International Implant Institute's Surgical and Prosthetic Programs, the California Center for Advanced Dental Studies (CCADS), Chicago Center for Esthetic Excellence, the University of Michigan Advanced Crown and Bridge Preceptorship and the University of Detroit Periodontal Surgical Continuum. Dr. Cooper voluntarily served six terms (1999-2011) as an elected official on Grosse Pointe Shores Village Council as Trustee, Village President, and the first Mayor when the Village became Michigan's newest City in 2009. Dr. Cooper is a Past President of the Rotary Club of Grosse Pointe Sunrise and is also a member of the Grosse Pointe Chamber of Commerce and Mack Ave. Business Association. Dr. Cooper and his wife, Daria, married in 1982 and have four children. They are parishioners and serve on committees at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.
