About Irma Cantu-Thompson, DDS
I am Dr. Cantu-Thompson a general dentist practicing in San Antonio. A graduate of Texas Woman’s University, where I completed a 4-year Dental Hygiene degree with a Bachelor of Science. I attended dental school at the University of Health Science Center in San Antonio where I graduated with a Doctorate of Oral Surgery in 1995. I have been providing dentistry for the San Antonio community for over 20 years with an office on the Northside of town. I’ve straightened hundreds of smiles and have pulled thousands of teeth. I have also done numerous full mouth reconstruction cases, which have turned into extreme makeovers. I enjoy traveling to third world countries such as El Salvador, Mexico, Guatemala, Africa and Haiti on short-term dental and medical mission trips. During these trips, I donate my time and services to the underprivileged. I have typically provided for as many as three to four staff members to accompany me on these trips. I have committed never to forget my humble roots and to always give something back to my profession and those less fortunate with fewer opportunities. When I’m not in the office, you will find me on the tennis court and spending time with my family of three great kids, my great husband, and our fabulous dog Laila.
