About Howard B. Gerber, MD
Howard B. Gerber, M.D. is a board certified dermatologist and dermatopathologist who has over 20 years of experience caring for patients with a wide variety of skin conditions. A native Houstonian (and a Bellaire High School graduate), he completed his B.S. in psychology from Duke University. Following medical school at the University of Texas Medical School-Houston, he completed an internship in transitional medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He went on to the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center to complete his dermatology residency, followed by a fellowship in dermatopathology. Since 1992, Dr. Gerber has practiced both dermatology and dermatopathology. After spending a few years practicing in Oklahoma, he returned to Houston and established Bellaire Dermatology with Dr. Teller in 1997. In addition to seeing clinical patients, he has served as a consultant dermatopathologist to various clinical laboratories in the Houston area. His areas of interest include: autoimmune disorders such as psoriasis and lupus erythematous, pediatric dermatology including acne, early detection and management of skin cancers including melanoma.
