Dr. Sohal’s expertise and over a decade of experience in providing aesthetic treatments. While few of us know as children what our future careers will be, Dr. Sohal knew from the age of six that she wanted to be a doctor. “I remember going to the doctor for a spider bite and the doctor’s touch making me feel better,” she said. “That’s when I made the connection between being a doctor and helping people.” Later on, she considered a career as an attorney as a way to help others, too, but her mother intervened and voiced her opinion. “She had dreamed of being a doctor herself, and she told me that she wanted this career for me. Turns out she knew me better than I knew myself. Once I experienced the interaction with patients, I knew I had chosen the right path.” Owning Balle Bliss was not part of Dr. Sohal’s initial career path. In fact, the former Chief Resident at Baylor College of Medicine initially tried her hand at aesthetics as an aside to her family practice. “I hesitated at first because there’s a bit of a stigma attached to aesthetics since it’s not viewed as necessary,” she says. “But once I saw how much looking better affected a person’s overall well being, I realized I was helping people ‘heal’ in a completely different way. When people feel good about how they look, then their whole outlook on life changes.” This revelation dictated that she devote herself fulltime to aesthetics, and she shifted her focus. Today, she’s thrilled with her decision. “People from all over come to me daily with something that bothers them every time they look in the mirror,” Dr. Sohal says. “We’re able to change how people see themselves, often in the first visit.” After more than a decade of aesthetic experience, Dr. Sohal has earned the elusive badge of Master Injector.
