About Greg S. Shain, DDS

While working with today's advanced techniques, Dr. Shain maintains the values of the country practice where he worked for 15 years. Because there were no specialists, he practiced all disciplines of dentistry to the benefit of the community. Dr. Greg Shain is highly experienced in providing superior dental care. For fourteen years, Dr. Shain provided patients with care in Carlsbad, California, before moving to Apple Valley in 2010. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree in South Africa, in 1972, at the University of Johannesburg Oral and Dental Hospital - a school accredited by the American Dental Association, The California Dental Association, and the California Board of Examiners. Studying in South Africa prepared Dr. Shain to take the California State Board Exams when he arrived here in the United States in 1985. Luke Iwata, D.D.S., the head of the International Student Exchange Program at Loma Linda University at the time, mentored Dr. Shain. Under his guidance, Dr. Shain passed his exams on his first try in the top tenth percentile. In 2010, Dr. Shain purchased a well-established dental practice from retiring founder, Dr. Sandoval. Dr. Sandoval took great care in choosing a patient-oriented, highly qualified dentist to take over his practice, and he was highly confident in his decision to pass the torch to Dr. Shain. Many of Dr. Sandoval's family members still visit Dr. Shain for their dental needs! You could say Dr. Shain is a sort of superhero of dental care. His degree, certificates, and continuing education courses provide him with the skills and the know-how to perform everything from general and cosmetic dentistry to root canal therapy to orthodontics, dental implants and dentures. He is also a member of Tri County Dental Society, American Dental Association, and California Dental Association. A man of many talents, Dr. Shain enjoys photography in his free time.
