About Gordon Shelton, DMD
Gordon is a lifelong native of Baltimore, growing up in Northwood and having lived in West Towson for the last 40 years. After graduating from McDonogh School, he majored in Biology at Western MD College (now McDaniel College), graduating with honors. Gordon received his dental education from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine followed by a dental residency at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago. Gordon began his dental practice in Towson in 1973 and has been at it ever since! Dr. Shelton's approach to dentistry is to provide the services that benefit the patient, and only the patient. ""Honest dentistry creates happy patients and a humbling and gratifying experience for me."" What humbles him most is a practice that he has built from almost referrals alone. There are generations of families and friends who call Dr. Shelton their dentist. Gordon and his wife, Barbara, have been married for 47 years. They have 3 children and 4 delightful grandchildren. When he is not in the office or spending time with family, he’s usually doing some combination of hiking, hunting, backpacking and studying natural history.
