About Frederick R. Bonds, DDS

Nearly 45 years ago, I walked into a new dental office in my home town of Tawas City, Michigan looking for a job. Jobs were hard to find in a small town so I took a shot. To my surprise, I got a job cleaning the office after hours. I had a keen interest in the medical field and found this job fascinating. I was allowed to read all of the dental textbooks and learn how all the instruments were used. I eventually got to do lab work for the office. Then one day, my mentor, Dr. Dennis Mollard, ask if I would assist him. I jumped at the chance. I was grateful for the chance to actually be involved with treating patients. I knew I could do this as a career and from that day on, I worked to become the best dentist I could be. Over the years, I have never stopped being grateful for the opportunity to help people with their dental problems. I take this profession very seriously and I value the trust that each patient has given me over the years. I have grown with them and their families, seen their babies grow up and have kids of their own, and have even treated three generations of patients (maybe four says my wife). If I have learned anything thus far in my career, it is that success is measured by the lives you have helped and the trust you have earned from the people who have sought your services. To that end, I have tried to make dental care as comfortable as I could. I have always given honest evaluations and given patients multiple options when available while trying to work within their budgets. It has been a long journey to get where I am today, filled with struggles and successes. At the end of the day, I am truly thankful for my patients and the part they play in my life as a dentist.
