About Franz J. Reck, DMD
Dr. Reck has been providing his patients with exceptional dental care. Utilizing a gentle, compassionate manner, he takes the time to acquaint himself with each patient’s individual needs. It has been his goal to treat patients in a timely fashion, applying and embracing up-to-date advances in technology to help deliver treatment in better and more efficient ways. A graduate of Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, Dr. Reck received his B.S. in biology in 1985 with a concentration on dental anatomy of the temporomandibular joint. He attended Fairleigh S. Dickinson College of Dental Medicine, in Hackensack from 1985 to 1989, where he earned his Doctorate of Medical Dentistry with a concentration in occlusion, orthodontics, and treatment of temporomandibular joint dysfunction. Throughout his career to date, Dr. Reck has taken many postgraduate continuing education courses in all phases of general dentistry, as well as orthodontics and TMJ therapy. He is certified in Invisalign® and is a ClearCorrect™ aligner therapy provider, and has more than 20 years of experience in treating adult patients with short-term orthodontics. He has also studied with Terrance J. Spahl, DDS, who is an internationally recognized clinician, author, and lecturer on the subject of the diagnosis and treatment of temporomandibular joint disorders. In addition, Dr. Reck has received training in soft-tissue laser therapy, which can treat periodontal disease in a non-surgical, less invasive manner. A lifelong resident of Monmouth County, Dr. Reck grew up in the Navesink/Atlantic Highlands area. From high school through dental school, he worked in the marine trades as a certified marine engine technician. Formerly an avid ocean sailing racer, Dr. Reck competed in numerous open-ocean sailboat races from Newport, Rhode Island to Bermuda. During the last eight years, he has been involved in auto racing, specifically the F-Series Gearup Challenge, a nationally recognized series of premier kart racing. At this time, he serves as the chief technical director of This Kart Racing Series. Dr. Reck is a compassionate professional who will provide you with excellent dental care of the highest quality.
