About Eric Y. Li, MD

Dr. Eric YK Li was born in Hong Kong and grew up in Toronto. He was drawn to medicine at an early age and knew after exposure to the artistry, problem-solving, and technical mastery of plastic surgery that it was his calling. After completing plastic surgery training in Canada at McMaster University, he underwent prestigious fellowship training in Aesthetic and Reconstructive Breast Surgery in Michigan and Aesthetic Facial Surgery in Melbourne (Australia) to further master his skills. He now resides in the Bay Area with his family, using his compendium of skills and knowledge to serve patients in San Jose and San Francisco, California. He is dual board-certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and American Board of Plastic Surgery. Dr. Li’s approach is straightforward –treat every patient as if they were a family member. Dr. Li treats patients of all ages, backgrounds, and genders with the same compassion and respect. Every patient journey starts with a detailed consultation, an opportunity Dr. Li welcomes to not only hear and carefully examine one's aesthetic concerns, but also to educate and empower the patient with knowledge about the possibilities, benefits, risks, and limitations of plastic surgery. Having worked alongside some of the leading experts in plastic and cosmetic surgery in Canada, the United States, and Australia, Dr. Li has developed advanced skills and expertise in aesthetic face, body, and breast surgery. Dr. Li travels internationally to stay current with the latest aesthetic surgery techniques, particularly in the field of Asian aesthetic surgery. Dr. Li has also authored various book chapters and articles on aesthetic surgery and serves as an expert reviewer for the preeminent research journal in plastic surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
