About Eric Benson, DDS
Dr Benson’s Rochester, NY dental practice is focused on General and Comprehensive dentistry, which includes the areas of Cosmetic, Aesthetic-Restorative, Implant and Bite-Related Dentistry. He is the former Director for the San Francisco Institute for Advanced Dental Learning, founded by Dr Jeff Morley, the Co-Founder and a Past President of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr Benson graduated from the General Practice Residency Program at the University of Rochester’s Strong Memorial Hospital in 1999. Since then Dr. Benson has received advanced training in areas such as the diagnosis and treatment of bite stress, cosmetic and aesthetic dentistry, age-reversing dentistry, tooth colored bonding, Orthodontics (including Invisalign®, and Clear Correct), and dental implant treatment planning and restoration. He has completed hundreds of cases ranging from “one tooth problems” to “full mouth smile makeovers.” Dr Benson has served as course director, course coordinator, and course instructor for numerous hands-on courses for dentist, staff, and lab technicians looking to improve their skills. In his spare time, Dr. Benson has been involved with girls Junior Olympic Fastpitch Softball, coaching teams to state, regional, and national championships. He has worked with many success-driven Division 1 head coaches, including Mike Candrea, the head coach of the 2004 and 2008 Women’s Olympic National team and Sue Enquist, the former head coach of the eleven time NCAA Division 1 women’s fastpitch National Champion UCLA Bruins. Dr. Benson is an avid martial arts student, holds the rank of second degree black belt in ITF Tae Kwon Do and is a former New York State middle weight fighting champion. He has studied the way of the Samurai, which means “to serve” and applies this philosophy to both his personal life and the way in which he treats his patients. His hobbies include music, attending Broadway shows, traveling, skiing, hiking, golf, and endurance training. He also enjoys gourmet cooking and gardening. He is married and a very proud father of one daughter, seven pets… and now a flock of chickens.
