About Emily Z. Jong, MD

Folsom Dermatology co-founder Dr. Emily Jong brings over 17 years of experience in medical and surgical dermatology to the practice. Dr. Jong earned her medical degree at the University of California, Davis School of Medicine. She completed her internship at the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine, followed by residency at University Hospitals of Cleveland/Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. During her residency, Dr. Jong also participated in an ASDS Dermatologic Surgery Preceptorship through the University of California, Los Angeles. Born in Missouri and raised in Oregon, Dr. Jong moved to California to attend the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she earned an undergraduate degree in Microbiology. Prior to founding Folsom Dermatology, Dr. Jong practiced as Senior Partner in Dermatology at Kaiser Permanente in Roseville, California. There she served five years as Chief and Assistant Chief of the Department of Dermatology. Her tenure at Kaiser Permanente also provided the opportunity to work closely with her Folsom Dermatology co-founder, Dr. Patti Satterfield, for nine years. Dr. Jong has expertise in the detection, diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer. Board certified by the American Board of Dermatology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, Dr. Jong is pleased to serve a wide range of patients from children to adults and seniors. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters in Granite Bay, as well as fitness activities.
