About Emily M. Bratton, MD

Dr. Bratton was raised in Nashville, Tennessee. She was first inspired to go into the field of medicine by her father, who was an orthopedic surgeon. She graduated magna cum laude from Vanderbilt University with a major in Neuroscience. She then spent two years performing research in neurodevelopment at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL. She graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine with honors and was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical honor society. She participated in research at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and was awarded the best paper presentation at the American Academy of Ophthalmology meeting as a senior medical student. Dr. Bratton completed her Internship at Presbyterian St. Luke’s Hospital and Residency at the University of Colorado in Denver, Colorado. She spent her first year of oculofacial plastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship at the University of Colorado, and completed her two-year fellowship at TOC Eye and Face. She has presented her research at national conferences and was elected, along with twenty of her peers across the country, to participate in the Heed Foundation Fellowship Research Retreat as a senior resident. She is enthusiastic about oculofacial plastic surgery. Inspired by her previous medical volunteer trip to Ghana, Africa, Dr. Bratton hopes to continue to volunteer abroad in the future. Outside of work, she enjoys long-distance and trail running, hiking, and road biking. Although raised in the country music capital of the world, she enjoys all genres of music.
