About Emily L. Arch, MD

Emily L. Arch, MD is a board certified Dermatologist and Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology. She has been practicing in Chicago since 2009. Dr. Arch grew up in New York and completed her undergraduate education at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. She pursued her medical education at Weill Medical College of Cornell University in New York City, followed by a medical internship at St. Vincent’s Medical Center. Dr. Arch completed her dermatology residency at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical College, serving as Chief Resident during her final year. She worked within the Division of Dermatology at NorthShore University HealthSystems in Skokie prior to joining Dermatology + Aesthetics in 2012. Dr. Arch lives with her husband and three daughters in the Lincoln Park neighborhood. Since moving to Chicago, she has enjoyed exploring the city with her family, including restaurants, museums, kids classes, parks and the incomparable cultural offerings. Dr. Arch is committed to providing comprehensive dermatological care for patients through patient education and communication, allowing for thorough understanding of diagnoses and treatment options. Dr. Arch specializes in general, medical, and pediatric dermatology with an emphasis on skin cancer screening and prevention, acne/rosacea, inflammatory skin conditions, and dermatological procedures. She enjoys seeing patients of all ages. Dr. Arch is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a member of the Women’s Dermatological Society and the Chicago Dermatologic Society. My favorite product is Skinceuticals CE Ferulic Serum. I layer it under my daily moisturizer with a zinc based sunscreen (what I consider the most important part of my daily regimen). The use of a daily antioxidant is meant to neutralize free radicals before they are able cause damage to the skin. UV radiation induces this damage but infrared radiation and environmental pollutants do as well so this provides a backup to the protection offered by daily sunscreen use. In addition, the particular combination of antioxidants in CE Ferulic helps reverse some signs of aging that have already occurred such as fine lines and discoloration. While the antioxidant properties of CE Ferulic may last for up to 72 hours, I use this product every day as part of my regimen to maximize the benefits!
