About Elizabeth A. Kiracofe, MD

After completion of her residency in Dermatology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio where she served her colleagues as Chief Resident, Dr. Kiracofe moved to Chicago to start her dermatology practice. Prior to her life as a dermatologist, Dr. Kiracofe is proud to have had the opportunity to teach 3rd grade. Always valuing the process of education, during residency, she did significant teaching with medical students, as well as publishing research in a number of Dermatology journals including the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, Archives of Dermatology, Dermatologic Surgery, and the American Journal of Dermatopathology. Dr. Kiracofe has a deep love for education and you can often find her around Chicago, even at the Cubs stadium, giving educational talks on skin disease and how we can all protect ourselves from skin cancer. Dr. Kiracofe graduated summa cum laude from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, where in addition to completing her premedical requirements, also had majors in Psychology and Communication. She then went on to complete her Medical Doctorate at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. With patient advocacy and education always important to Dr. Kiracofe, she completed a Health Policy Fellowship with the Ohio State Medical Association (OSMA). Through this position she went on to become a registered lobbyist for the State of Ohio, allowing her to officially advocate on behalf of patients and physicians. In recognition for her efforts in public health, Dr. Kiracofe was awarded the 2014 Physician Advocate of the Year award for the State of Ohio - the first Dermatologist and youngest physician to ever receive this award.
