About Edward L. Vines, DDS
Dr. Vines was born in Long Beach, CA and grew up in Garden Grove. He and his wife met in their Junior year of High School. He attended California Western University in San Diego and they married in his second year of college. After graduation, Dr. Vines, his wife and two sons traveled to St. Louis, MO to attend the prestigious Washington University School of Dental Medicine. After graduation from Dental School, Dr. Vines was asked to join the Department of Operative Dentistry as a Clinical Instructor. They returned to SoCal after 7 ½ years in St. Louis, but migrated to Salinas where Dr. Vines associated with a Pedodontist for two years before purchasing the practice of Gilroy native, Dr. Warren Byers. Dr. Vines and his Family have lived in Gilroy since 1979. He and his wife have two sons and nine grand-children. In his spare time, Dr. Vines enjoys Trap and Skeet shooting and competes in a weekly league with some of his patients. Shooting sports has been a Vines family tradition for generations and he started clay target shooting at age 10. Dr. Vines also holds an Extra Class Amateur Radio License and has been active in Community Emergency Radio preparedness and Garlic Festival Communications in the past. Dr. Vines is a member of the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association and the Santa Clara County Dental Association, and the Gilroy Study Club.
