About Edward M. Kobraei, MD

My name is Eddie Kobraei and I feel privileged to be your doctor. I am from Murray, a small town in western Kentucky. I graduated from medical school at the University of Kentucky in 2012. I then spent 6 intensive years (2012-2018) in Boston training at Harvard’s dedicated teaching hospitals-Massachusetts General Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and Boston Children’s Hospital, in the Harvard Combined Plastic Surgery Residency Program. At Harvard I was fortunate to learn the most advanced techniques from some of the most experienced and talented surgeons across the full spectrum of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Cosmetic Surgery. During this time I participated in novel procedures such as face and upper extremity transplantation, migraine surgery, lymphatic surgery, gender confirmation surgery, peripheral nerve and brachial plexus surgery, and complex cancer reconstructive surgery, among many others. I followed these 6 years with an additional fellowship year in Orthopedic Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery at the University of Southern California (USC). At USC I gained additional experience in Orthopedic hand surgery and peripheral nerve reconstruction, replantation of amputated parts, functional muscle transfers, tendon transfers, and early and late management of mutilating hand injuries. My hybrid Plastic Surgery-Orthopedic Surgery training background has equipped me with the skillset to manage complex pathologies. I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2019. I believe in treating patients like family. This ensures that each decision we make has your best interest at heart. I believe patients should feel comfortable with their doctor and partner with their doctor in making decisions together. I take great pride in providing you with world-class care right here at Kaiser Permanente that you deserve. I believe a large part of my responsibility to you as your surgeon is to spend time with you and educate you about your condition and treatment options. I believe in honest, genuine communication about your condition and having frank and candid conversations about expectations and outcomes.
