About Douglas J. Heiner, MD
Dr. Douglas Heiner is a board-certified and fellowship-trained dermatologic surgeon at North Valley Dermatology Peoria who specializes in Mohs surgery, laser and cosmetic dermatology and reconstructive surgery. He is an expert in all aspects of skin cancer surgery, including the treatment of basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma and malignant melanoma, as well as other forms of skin cancer. Dr. Heiner specializes in the diagnosis and repair of skin lesions, including utilizing skin grafts and skin flaps for cosmetic reconstruction following skin cancer removal. Dr. Heiner completed his residency in dermatology at Boston University at Roger Williams Medical Center. Following residency, Dr. Heiner completed a competitive Mohs and dermatologic surgery fellowship approved by the American College of Mohs Surgery. Before attending medical school, Dr. Heiner earned his bachelor’s degree in biology at Brigham Young University. He received his medical degree with magna cum laude honors from the University of Texas School of Medicine at Galveston. Dr. Heiner is a member of the American College of Mohs Surgery and American Academy of Dermatology.
