About Donald Wilcox, DDS
Dr. Wilcox has had his own mouth restored with porcelain veneers and onlays to enhance his smile. He has successfully placed several thousand cosmetic restorations. Dr. Wilcox's studies at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies have included extensive training in advanced cosmetic and restorative procedures, including multiple hands-on patient treatment experiences with the finest dentists in the US and Canada. Other areas of advanced training are in occlusion, dental hygiene therapy, photography, and sedation or sleep dentistry. Most recently Dr. Wilcox has trained with Dr. Leo Malin at LVI in surgical guided implant placement and bone grafting. This state of the art treatment aided with 3D cat scans and software design, allows Dr. Wilcox’s patients to receive the latest in implant care. Dr. Wilcox also has a passion for treating patients with snoring and sleep apnea issues. Diagnosed with sleep apnea himself, Dr. Wilcox has successfully worn an oral appliance himself since 2007 with a profound effect on his sleep quality and overall health. He has trained with many of the top dental sleep medicine experts in the US as well as medical professionals such as sleep physicians and pulmonologists. Dr. Wilcox is a member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, American Academy of Sleep Medicine, the Arizona Sleep Society, the Online Sleep Academy, and the Restless Days and Sleepless Nights forum. Several area sleep physicians refer patients to Dr. Wilcox for oral appliance therapy and we work closely with them and area sleep labs to provide snoring and sleep breathing solutions. Dr. Wilcox enjoys golfing, hiking and travel in his spare time. He and his wife Shelley are active with Christ’s Church of the Valley and serve as leaders for a neighborhood group. They have two grown children. Ashley is a graduate of Arizona State University and Chad graduated from Wake Forest University. Shelley teaches the Dale Carnegie public speaking course and trains instructors for the organization.
