About Diana C. Racean, DDS
Dr. Diana Racean was born in Romania and moved to the States with her family in 1986. Knowing from the age of 14 that her passion is dentistry, Dr. Racean graduated from University of Illinois at Chicago Dental School in 1994, where she studied on a full Research Scholarship. Since her dream had always been to help people improve their smiles, she opened her first dental office in Chicago in 1995. Dr. Racean moved her practice to Skokie in 2000 and is still practicing in this area today. After 21 years of dentistry, Dr. Racean improved thousands of smiles, continuing to help boost her patients’ confidence and self-esteem. Witnessing how the “shame of a smile” impacts her patients’ lives, her motto is “The Smile of Confidence to Succeed .” Committed to making a difference in people’s lives, Dr. Racean gives informative talks in the community, raising the awareness about the impact of oral health to wellbeing and success. Because family is Dr. Racean’s first priority, she treats every patient that walks into her office like a family member. Over the years, Dr. Racean built long term relationships with her patients, some of them remaining loyal for the past 20 years. Since her patients value her services and the relationship they built over the years, they continue to come back to see her even after they moved away, from as far as California, Detroit and Wisconsin. In alignment with her values, in the last few years, Dr. Racean has shifted towards a holistic approach to living her life and practice of dentistry. She believes that the mouth is the portal to the body and mind, she recommends the use of organic, natural products in everyday life. Her philosophy is that all the energy of life flows through the mouth, therefore it is imperative to breathe in purified air, drink clean water and ingest healthy foods. Dr. Racean’s The Art of a Smile Dental Studio, is a Nikken Certified Wellness Office that uses Nikken’s products for rest and relaxation, as well as air and water purification. Dr. Racean is passionate about various forms of art, promoting local artists and hosting events in her office building where she invites her patients and members of the community. She enjoys traveling with her family around the world to experience different cultures and people, collecting gems and jewels, paintings and visiting museums and art galleries. She loves listening to different types of music, especially classical and opera and reading books on personal growth and spirituality. She is also fluent in 3 languages: English, Romanian and German. Dr. Racean has been happily married for 24 years. She has a 15 year old daughter with whom she loves spending precious time together.
