About David B. Shanker, MD
David B. Shanker, MD is a board certified Dermatologist who has practiced in Chicago and the north suburbs since 1985. Dr. Shanker grew up in Chicago, completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Illinois in Urbana, and received his medical degree from the University of Illinois in Chicago. He completed an internal medicine internship at Lutheran General Hospital in 1981 and his Dermatology residency at the University of Illinois in Chicago studying with Dr. Lawrence Solomon and Dr. Iris Aronson. Dr. Shanker established Dermatology-Chicago SC in the Chicago loop in 1985 and a suburban location in Gurnee and Grayslake in 1992. He is on the medical staffs of Northwestern Lake Forest (joining NorthShore University) and Advocate Condell Hospitals. He is a clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois in Chicago. He is a member and past President of both the Chicago Dermatological and the Great Lakes Dermatological Societies and is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.
