About David Kang, MD

Dr. David Kang, elder brother of Dr. Lisa Kang, is a co-founder and co-owner of Serenity MedSpa. Dr. Kang was born in South Korea and immigrated to the Bay Area with his family at age 13. He attended the University of California, Berkeley, where he earned a degree in biophysics. He earned his M.D. degree at the University of St. Louis School of Medicine and completed his general surgery residency at the University of California Davis-East Bay Program (now called University of California San Francisco-East Bay Program). Dr. Kang ran a successful private practice as a board-certified general surgeon in the Bay Area with his sister, Dr. Lisa Kang, for more than a decade. In 2006, he and his sister opened Serenity MedSpa. Dr. Kang expanded his surgical skills to include noninvasive and minimally invasive cosmetic laser surgeries and cosmetic dermatologic procedures. Now, he is fully focused on performing treatments at Serenity MedSpa. Dr. Kang is especially skilled when it comes to minimally invasive body contouring procedures, cellulite reduction and skin tightening treatments. He blends his highly trained surgical skills with his eye for detail to deliver remarkable results, especially when it comes to Smartlipo® laser liposuction, Cellulaze® cellulite treatment and the newest and most innovative skin tightening treatment on the market, ThermiTight®. He has offered Smartlipo to his clients since it was first introduced in 2006 and is one of the most experienced and highly regarded laser liposuction surgeons in the nation. He currently uses the latest version of Smartlipo, the Triplex system. Recently, he has been combining Smartlipo with ThermiTight to deliver even better body contouring and skin tightening results than ever before. Dr. Kang is also one of the very first surgeons in the nation to be approved by the Cynosure company to perform the ground-breaking cellulite treatment, Cellulaze.
