About Daniel P. Skinner, MD

Dr. Skinner is a 5th-generation Arizonan and grew up in Mesa. He graduated from Mountain View High School and went on to attend Brigham Young University where he graduated with a degree in Business Management. He then attended the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Tucson where he developed an interest in dermatologic surgery. During medical school he was a leader and volunteer in many different medical school organizations. He completed a one year internship in Internal Medicine at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix and a three year dermatology residency at the University of Missouri where he served as chief resident his final year. He has presented research at many local and national meetings and has published research on the use of Mohs surgery for rare skin cancer as well as a book chapter on dermabrasion. Dr. Skinner concluded his training with an intensive one year fellowship in Mohs Micrographic and Dermatologic surgery in Birmingham, Alabama with Dr Christopher Harmon, one of the nations leading Mohs surgeons. Dr. Skinner has performed over 6000 skin cancer surgeries. In addition to training in Mohs surgery and skin cancer removal, he has expertise in facial reconstruction after skin cancer removal. Dr. Skinner is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology and a member of the American College of Mohs Surgery and of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. When he is not at work Dr. Skinner enjoys spending time with his wife Marie and their six children. He is also very active in volunteer work for his church and enjoys spending time playing and watching sports
