About Colleen M. Holohan, DDS
Dr. Colleen M. Holohan has been in private practice since graduating from Loyola University School of Denistry in 1989. She has had experience in the dental field since her early teens when she worked as a dental assistant for her father, Dr. William J. Holohan. She graduated from Marquette University in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene and began working as a dental hygienist. That training led to her attaining her doctorate degree and a lifelong career as a dental health professional. ""The goal for my practice is to simply help my patients to retain all of their natural teeth for a lifetime, if possible, in maximum comfort, function, health, and appearance. I believe I have a moral obligation to do the best I know how for all my patients, and I strive to treat them with professionalism, kindness, respect, and honesty."" Dr. Colleen is a constant student. She is a member of numerous study clubs and esteemed professional groups such as The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, The American Association of Women Dentists, The American Dental Association, Chicago Dental Society, and The Illinois State Dental Society. She has also studied numerous hours at The Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Training. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience in cosmetic and dental implant restorations, ranging from single tooth treatments to full mouth rehabilitations. ""I feel that I can best serve my patients by first coming to understand and form relationships with them. My golden rule is to do unto others as if I were the other person. The highest compliment someone can give me as a dentist is to refer another family member, friend, or co-worker."" Dr. Colleen believes in sharing her time and talents by serving the elderly, the poor, and underserved children both at home and in other countries. She has participated in several missionary trips to remote mountain villages in Mexico to treat those with no access to health care. Locally, she has been involved in Pankey Dental Access Days, The CARA Program, Illinois Mission of Mercy, and Little Sisters of the Poor. She was also recently honored to receive The Regina Medal and has been recognized as a Distinguished Alumnae from Regina Dominican High School for her service to others. ""I believe that volunteering my time to serve others has made me a better person and deeply enriched my life. These experiences have helped me to become more compassionate for those who suffer."" Dr. Colleen and her husband, Marc, reside in the local area and are raising two sons, Jackson and Finn. She has a strong religious faith and is very active in her church community.
