About Christopher Chia

Dr. Christopher Chia, a double board certified plastic surgeon completed his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University and then obtained his Medical Degree from the Georgetown University School of Medicine. He completed his surgical residency at Hospital of Saint Raphael in, New haven, Connecticut. Following this his post-graduate training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery was completed in University of Louisville. Upon completion he underwent an additional year of training in Cosmetic Plastic Surgery from the prestigious Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital's Aesthetic Surgery Fellowship Program Affiliated with New York University (NYU). He completed this Aesthetic Fellowship program in 2003. Dr. Chia is board certified by both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery. As a leading aesthetic plastic surgeon in Manhattan, New York City, he is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the Medical Society of the State of New York. Dr. Chia is presently a teaching Faculty at ASAPS (American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery) and MEETH (Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital) where he teaches the latest techniques in plastic and cosmetic surgery to plastic surgeons. He was the former Program Director for the MEETH fellowship, and was involved in teaching and continues to teach aesthetic surgery to future leaders in plastic surgery. The MEETH Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Fellowship is the oldest and most prestigious aesthetic plastic surgery training program in the U.S and is internationally recognized in the field of cosmetic surgery. Currently, Dr. Chia serves as the Surgical Director of bodySCULPT®, a leading plastic surgery practice in Manhattan, NYC. Dr. Chia developed the technique for Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) under local anesthesia, which allows for a faster recovery involving less bruising, less pain, and less downtime. He is a section editor for the Emerging Technologies section in the Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Journal and continues to be very involved in research on techniques in cosmetic and plastic surgery. As an International authority on plastic and cosmetic surgery procedures he has published several studies in international journals and continues to give presentations across the country.
