About Chris C. Loukaitis, DDS

Dr. Loukaitis is a renowned Prosthodontist and TMJ specialist. Throughout his more than 20 years of experience he has been dedicated to providing highly personalized care in a warm, caring setting that considers the entire person. Dr. Loukaitis is known by his patients, peers and students as a doctor who provides a true combination of superior technical expertise and warm, compassionate care. His passions are dedication to the service of his patients, the advancement of his profession, and using his skills to support the community. After receiving his D.D.S., Dr. Loukaitis continued his education at Georgetown University in their TMJ (temporomandibular joint) specialty area. In that program, he completed two years of advanced training in Cranio-Mandibular Disorders Management and Restorative Dentistry. From there, he went on to complete an additional three years of post-graduate studies and earned his Masters of Science with a specialty in Prosthodontics. Dr. Loukaitis began practicing locally after graduating from Georgetown University with his Prosthodontics degree. His private practice has been in the Georgetown/Foxhall area since 1990. Throughout his time as a practicing Prosthodontist, Dr. Loukaitis has also been a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Prosthodontics at the Howard University College of Dentistry, where he regularly mentors his dental students. Dr. Loukaitis is on the Board of Directors of the DC Dental Society (DCDS). He has served on the DCDS Chairman of Membership and is a member of the Educational Committee. He has served on the society’s Board of Directors for ten years and was a past Chairman of the Educational Committee. He was the General Chairman to the Nation’s Capital Mid-Atlantic Dental Meeting in 2017. Dr. Loukaitis served as the President of the DC Dental Society for the 2018-2019 year. In 2014, Dr. Loukaitis was inducted as a Fellow of the International College of Dentists, the oldest and largest international honor society for dentists in the world and as a Fellow of the American College of Dentists. The honor is bestowed upon those dentists who have made significant contributions to the profession, their community, and successfully completed a thorough peer review process. “Fellowship in the College is by invitation only and is granted in recognition of an individual dentist’s outstanding professional achievement, meritorious service and dedication to the continued progress of dentistry.” Dr. Loukaitis is fluent in Greek and Arabic.
