Dr. Charles A. Porter III is a skilled and esteemed general dentist serving patients in Charlotte and the surrounding areas. Dr. Porter received his bachelor of arts degree in 1988 and doctorate of dental surgery degree in 1992 from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. Dr. Porter founded his private practice in Charlotte shortly afterwards, and has been treating patients for more than 25 years. In fact, some of his patients have been coming to him since the office opened. Dr. Porter regularly attends seminars and classes so that he can provide modern, precise care as the field of dentistry evolves. He has undergone training at the Dawson Academy, Spear Education, and CERECdoctors.com. For training in implant placement, Dr. Porter studied with Dr. Michael E. Pruett at the Georgia Regents University, College of Dental Medicine. He is a proud alumnus of the L.D. Pankey Institute and the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation, and he is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Porter has worked tirelessly to integrate the latest dental technology into his practice, including laser dentistry and integrated digital radiographic and photographic technology. He is especially proud of the practice’s extensive use of CEREC® technology, and has spent many hours learning about the use of advanced 3D imaging. CEREC® uses video imaging to create extremely precise digital models of patients' smiles so that Dr. Porter can design, create, and place durable, cosmetic crowns, bridges, and porcelain veneers in just one visit. Dr. Porter also offers sedation dentistry services. He understands that dental anxiety and phobia are a real problem, and strives to make dental care relaxing and comfortable by offering a variety of sedation options, including nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and oral sedation.
