About Cathy A. Macknet, MD

Dr. Cathy Macknet is one of the handful of board-certified, fellowship-trained dermatologic surgeons in the Inland Empire, specializing in all aspects of surgical and cosmetic dermatology. Dr. Macknet is an expert in skin cancer surgery, facial reconstruction, and minimally invasive cosmetic surgery. After graduating summa cum laude with honors from La Sierra University, Dr. Macknet continued her medical education at Loma Linda University Medical Center where she completed her doctoral degree, internship, and dermatology residency. Following residency, she completed her fellowship in Mohs and cosmetic surgery at the California Skin Institute in Mountain View, California. During this intensive surgical fellowship, Dr. Macknet trained in a multidisciplinary setting alongside dermatologic surgery fellows, oculoplastic surgery fellows, and facial plastic surgery fellows, learning advanced facial reconstruction techniques and cosmetic dermatologic surgery. This fellowship in Mohs and cosmetic surgery puts her in an elite group of dermatologists nationwide who have received this level of cosmetic surgery training. After completing her fellowship, she returned to Loma Linda, California and practiced dermatology at Loma Linda Dermatology Medical Group alongside her father and brother. Currently, her practice consists of the entire spectrum of surgical, general, and cosmetic dermatology. Dr. Macknet is a skilled Mohs Micrographic surgeon with extensive experience in reconstructing Mohs surgery defects. Her trained aesthetic eye guides her when evaluating and performing facial and eyelid surgeries, liposuction and advanced laser resurfacing. Safe, natural, and individualized treatments help her achieve her patients’ goals. Dr. Macknet is a fellow of the American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology, the American Academy of Dermatology, and the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery. She has lectured internationally as well as to schools, corporations, and to dermatology residents. When not caring for her patients, she enjoys yoga, cycling, swimming, and spending time with her husband and three sons.
