About Carol A. Kirkwood-Gamble, DMD
Dr. Carol Kirkwood-Gamble is the owner of Westchase Dental Associates. She is a general dentist and opened her office February 12, 1998. She has been active in dentistry since 1981 having worked as a receptionist, assistant, hygienist and educator. A native of White Plains, Kentucky, she attended and graduated with honors at Western Kentucky University in 1986, majoring in Dental Hygiene. She later attended the University of Kentucky School of Dentistry and was again recognized for academic achievement, having graduated “With High Distinction” in 1994. Dr. Kirkwood-Gamble was President of her dental class and a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honorary Dental Society. She is one of University of Kentucky’s most honored dental students having been awarded the Quintessence Award; American College of Dentist Leadership Award; Crest Preventive Dentistry Award; American Academy of Periodontology Award; William S. Kramer Award; International Congress of Oral Implantologists Achievement Award: Student Research Fellowship Award; Don King Oral Diagnosis and Treatment Planning Award; and the International College of Dentistry Award for Leadership. She performed her oral surgery externship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center located in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Kirkwood-Gamble was the supervising clinical dentist for the Armstrong State College Dental Hygiene Department in Savannah, Georgia from 1994-1995. She has been an Associate Dentist with the Garden City Dental Center; Garden City, Georgia, 1994-1995 and the St. Petersburg Dental Center; St. Petersburg, Florida, 1996-1997. Dr. Kirkwood-Gamble is presently a member of the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, the West Coast Dental Association, and the Florida Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. The Docobo Corporation recognized Dr. Kirkwood-Gamble’s office as “Dental Facility of the Year” in 1998. Her office has been the featured office at both the 1998 Florida Dental convention and the 1999 West Coast Dental convention. The World of Westchase also recognized her award winning facility in October 1998. Dr. Kirkwood-Gamble’s exceptional service to the dental community was recognized on May 18, 2000 when she was named “Dentist of the Year” by the Hillsborough County Dental Hygiene Association.
