About Carol Birchwale, Tattoo Specialist
Carol attended Bergen County Vocational Technical High School and graduated with a focus in Computer Science in 1983. That summer Carol was hit by a drunk driver which dramatically changed her career path. Needing to be treated by a Chiropractor and Physical Therapists for her injuries, Carol fell in love with the massage therapy she received and the idea that she could help others like her find relief from pain. Carol then attended and graduated from the HELMA Institute for Massage Therapy in 1986. Over the next 10 years she grew her massage therapy practice, located within her Chiropractor’s facility from one room and two therapists to 4 rooms with a large staff working with patients who were referred by orthopedic surgeons, neurologists and other health care professionals. In 1996 Carol moved from the Chiropractor’s office and opened The Botanical Day Spa, offering different modalities in massage therapy and Aveda Spa Body Treatments. In 2000, Carol was invited Aveda’s headquarters in Minneapolis, Minnesota to train to become an Aveda trainer, and has served as an Aveda Global Spa Body Purefessional Educator throughout the United States since. She is a lifelong learner, consistently pursuing further education graduating from cosmetology school in 2015, The Institute For Integrative Nutrition in 2016 and currently is studying under the direction of Steven Paglierani at the Center for Emergence. Carol holds both New Jersey and New York Massage Therapy Licenses, New Jersey Cosmetology License as well as an IIN Health Coach Certification. Carol has always had a love for pure and natural solutions to life’s health and wellness challenges. In her words, “I am consistently looking for ways to heal naturally. I have a passion to help others find their path to becoming a better “Well-Being”!” In May of 2014, Carol was introduced to DoTerra essential oils and well-care offerings, by her friend, Marcy Snodgrass. With DoTerra, Carol is empowered to assist others in a profound way to heal their physical, emotional and for some, financial lives. She works as the spa director, lead massage therapist, skin care specialist, nail and hair care technician and IIN Health Coach at The Botanical Spa located in Hillsdale, NJ. Carol’s personal mission is to inspire others to grow and continue learning by staying open and curious. And… in her spare time loves being a professional race car driver.
