For as long as I can remember, I’ve had an eye for beauty. I loved watching my Mom put on her makeup every morning while getting ready for work. But, it wasn’t until I was in middle school that the Esthetician in me emerged. It all began when I first attempted to remove unwanted peach fuzz from my upper lip. As you can imagine, it went horribly wrong. I looked like I drank Kool Aid and the hair was still there afterwards! And of course, I’ll never forget the time I shaved off my eyebrow for eighth grade graduation pictures! All I remember thinking was I can’t have a unibrow, can’t have a unibrow, CAN’T HAVE A UNIBROW! Anyhow, shortly after high school, I enrolled in Pivot Point Academy’s Esthetics Program. After graduation, I was able to build on my knowledge of Esthetics by working in spas located in Oak Park, River Forest, and in Chicago’s Gold Coast. In these settings, I learned how to perform a variety of services. My favorite is eyebrow shaping and tinting. I love how the two can transform a clients appearance in an instant. I can’t really say what inspired me to open up my own business after all these years. I think I just put my dreams on hold for many personal reasons. I literally, just woke up one day and realized I have what it takes! And what I lack in I can grow in! I decided on the name Blush for my business because for me, it signifies a surge of vitality, renewal and radiance! Which is exactly how I feel embarking on this new journey of my life.
