About Brigham G. Colton, DMD
Dr. Colton graduated from Olympus High School. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah before going to Dental School. He attended Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, Florida where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with Highest Honors in the top 5% of his class, earning a Doctorate of Dental Medicine degree (DMD). Dr. Colton grew up in a large family in Holladay, Utah. He was the second oldest out of 5 boys and 4 girls. He met his beautiful wife Alyson in high school but they never dated until they were both in college. She was the younger sister of one of his close friends, and he never worked up the courage to ask her out until he was home form his mission. Once they started dating, it didn’t take long until they were engaged and married. Brigham and Alyson have 5 children, 3 girls and 2 boys; Shelbie, Katelyn, Rebecca, Brady, & Dalan. Dr. Colton grew up playing sports. He wasn’t very good at football or basketball, but really enjoyed and excelled at baseball and soccer. It was a hard decision in high school when he had to choose between playing soccer or baseball, but he ultimately decided that he was better at soccer and therefore had a better chance of making the team. He played for the Olympus High School varsity soccer team for 3 years, and continues to play competitive soccer in a men’s over 40 league. Dr. Colton grew up boating. His dad and grandfather shared a boat when he was really young, and he fell in love with boats and anything to do with the water. He is an avid slalom skier, and loves wake surfing because he is getting old and wake surfing is not as physically demanding…and it doesn’t hurt when you fall. But his absolute favorite thing is watching his kids learn to ski, wake board, and wake surf. Many of our patients know that it is hard to get an appointment around the times he is in Lake Powell with his family. Dr. Colton also loves camping, 4wheeling, and jeeping. His jeep is beat up, and is constantly in need of repair. But it is worth the amazing adventures his jeep has taken him on. One of his family’s favorite vacations was jeeping in the mountains near Telluride & Ouray Colorado. He will forever own a jeep! (even if it doesn’t always run).
