About Brent T. Goedjen
Dr. Goedjen was raised in Muscle Shoals Alabama. He completed his undergraduate training as a member of the Honors College at Auburn University where he majored in Chemical Engineering with a pre-medicine specialization. He was involved with many extracurricular activities including participation as a walk-on with the Men’s varsity tennis team. Dr. Goedjen enjoyed engineering but a desire for more personal interaction and direct impact in peoples live drove him to medicine. He was the first individual in his extended family to enter the field. Dr. Goedjen matriculated to medical school at the University of South Alabama in Mobile. Here, through his hard work and educational achievements he was honored with election to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. He also won the John Watson Donald surgical award for his performance during 3rd year surgical rotation. Dr. Goedjen was very interested in many different specialties during his medical school training. Ultimately, it was the variety and range in the field of Dermatology that Dr. Goedjen found most appealing with elements of surgery, general medicine, pathology, technology (lasers), cosmetics, etc.
