About Brenna L. Hamrick-Stotts, DDS
Dr. Brenna Hamrick-Stotts was a late bloomer of sorts. She started training at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry when she was 35. ""Oddly enough, I wasn't the oldest person in class,"" Hamrick-Stotts says. Dr. Cherilyn Sheets, noted USC School of Dentistry professor, inspired her to pursue a professional dental career and start her own practice in Redlands. ""Until the late '80s, professional female dentists were rare,"" she says. ""Dr. Sheets still became very successful in spite of that. I thought if she could make it, I could too."" Since 1988, Hamrick-Stotts has helped people rediscover the beauty of smiling. New treatments using lasers can effectively contour gingiva, treat periodontal diseases and set fillings. Also, added this past year was computerized scanning and milling so that we could deliver same day crowns. Outside of work, she spends time with Toni, a rescued greyhound, and Veus, a Belgian Malinois. Her family pampers both dogs generously, but Veus has very unusual credentials. ""He is a certified guide dog for the disabled and he understands commands in French, German and English,"" Hamrick-Stotts says. ""I bring him to work once a month to liven things up."" She is also a mother, and grandmother and really enjoys spending time with her girls.
