About Astrid Alves, DDS
When you meet Dr. Astrid Alves, you will see right away her passion for dentistry. She is an expert Prosthodontist, specializing in restorative dentistry and her goal is to create a dental haven for those in Miami and Coral Gables. Dr. Alves is bilingual and welcomes patients of all ages to Forma. Dr. Alves attended Universidad Santa Maria in Venezuela. To become an expert Prosthodontist, she then completed three additional years of advanced training beyond dental school, earning her Master’s Degree in an ADA-accredited graduate program at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. Prosthodontists are the recognized dental experts when anything needs to be replaced in your mouth. This can range from a single tooth, multiple teeth, or all teeth and gums. While general dentists can do some of these treatments, Prosthodontists are the specialists dedicated to this type of care. Dr. Alves is highly trained in cosmetic dentistry, including whitening and veneers, fillings, dental implants, crowns, bridges, dentures and treatment for temporomandibular disorders (TMJ/TMD).
