About Ashley M. Smitherman, DDS
Dr. Ashley Smitherman is a native Texan from the small community Franklin. She was introduced to the field of dentistry at an early age as her mom works as a dental hygienist. Dr. Smitherman recalls fond memories during elementary school when her mom would bring her along to dental hygiene school as one of her first patients. Dr. Smitherman received her undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering from Texas A&M University. She then completed her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from The University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston. She is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Texas Dental Association, Academy of Gp Orthodontics and American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine. Always looking to keep up with the current trends and innovations in dentistry, she has completed over 100 hours of continuing education courses within the past year. Dr. Smitherman currently resides in Austin with her wife, Charlsie, and their son, Parker, and daughters Reid and Ellis.
