Frequently Asked Questions

What is an Eyelid Lift?

Also known as blepharoplasty or eyelid surgery, an eyelid lift can improve the appearance of the upper and/or lower eyelids. When performed on the upper eyelids, this procedure can correct loose skin or puffiness. For the lower eyelids, an eyelid lift can treat droopiness or bags under the eye.

What kind of brow lift procedure is best for me?

Endoscopic Brow Lift Endoscopic brow lift utilizes an endoscope to provide real-time imaging of the inside of your brow. The endoscope and other small surgical instruments are placed through small incisions in your hairline. The endoscopic technique effectively corrects frown lines while minimizing scarring. Coronal Brow Lift An alternative brow lift technique is the coronal brow lift, which can target specific portions of the brow. In this technique, an incision is made from ear to ear, the forehead is lifted, and excess skin is removed from the scalp. The large incision associated with a coronal brow lift usually requires a longer recovery period than the small incisions of an endoscopic brow lift.

Am I a good candidate for Tummy Tuck?

Patients considering tummy tuck surgery are close to, or at, their ideal weight and are in good health, with excess skin and/or weakened muscles on their abdomen. Women considering this procedure should be finished having children, as pregnancy and childbirth can reverse its results. Patients must be considering tummy tuck surgery for personal reasons and need to have realistic expectations about the procedure. Patients will need to consult with a plastic surgeon to determine whether a tummy tuck is right for them.

What can I expect during the Rhinoplasty procedure?

Several weeks before nose surgery, you will be provided with preoperative instructions. A physical examination and laboratory testing may be required to ensure the status of your health. Certain medications may need to be stopped at this point. Smokers will need to quit before surgery, as smoking can interfere with the healing process. To ensure a successful procedure and recovery, please follow all instructions carefully. Rhinoplasty is performed as an outpatient procedure using either intravenous sedation or general anesthesia. If an open rhinoplasty is being performed, incisions are made across the columella, which separates the nostrils. If a closed rhinoplasty is being performed, small incisions are created inside the nose. The tissues surrounding the nose are then lifted and the nose is restructured. Once the nose has been properly reshaped, the tissues are replaced and incisions are closed. The nose might be placed into a splint, which is usually removed after a week.

How does Coolsculpting work?

There is no surgery needed, no scars, and no downtime. You clearly see the results. CoolSculpting gets rid of fat cells under the skin without damaging any of the other surrounding tissue. This is done by a targeted cooling process called cryolipolysis. The procedure lasts one hour per area treated. Over the course of the next one to three months, the cooled fat cells disintegrate and exit the body taking the fat with them, leaving you with a slimmer body.
