About Anil M. Shivaram, MD
Dr. Anil Shivaram is a graduate of Yale Medical School and completed his ophthalmology residency training at Boston Medical Center with additional sub-specialized refractive surgery training. He has been in practice in Claremont since 2008 and is a member of both the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. He has been named as a "Leading Physician of the World" in addition to receiving multiple Patients' Choice Awards. He has a longstanding focus on medical education including primary authorship of the USMLE First Aid series and the creation of USMLERx.com. Including multiple patents on ophthalmic devices, he serves as a consultant and key opinion leader for surgical device companies. His interests include comprehensive ophthalmology, cataract surgery (including highly complex cases), laser refractive surgery, advanced surgical instrument design, ophthalmic plastic, and glaucoma surgery. He is fluent in multiple languages including Spanish and Kannada.
