About Amanda E. Canto, DDS
Dr. Amanda Canto has been sharing her passion for healthy, beautiful smiles since 1989. She is dedicated to developing exceptional relationships with her patients as well as the community in order to educate and enrich those she reaches. The child of immigrant parents from Panama and Peru, Amanda Canto grew up fluent in both Spanish and English. Her hard-working parents instilled a serious work ethic and strong morals in all of their children. At an early age, her parents gave her the choice to become “a doctor, or a doctor or… a doctor,” and she is eternally grateful for a wonderful direction. Her parents insisted on great education for herself and her 7 siblings, all of whom are successful in their chosen paths. They share three beautiful daughters, who teach them about love, kindness and patience every day. Dr. Canto loves dancing and music; in fact, she says she can’t live without them. She enjoys time with her amazing family and friends. She is committed to professional, personal and spiritual growth and loves to read. Dr. Canto is eternally grateful for her strong faith in God, who has blessed her with the ability to serve her patients and community alongside her fabulous and talented team. Dr. Canto received her undergraduate degree from Southwestern University in 1985 and her Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1989 from The University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston. Upon graduation, Dr. Canto was chosen for a full year private fellowship in cosmetic dentistry and served as Assistant Editor of Reality Publishing Company for dentistry. She has completed thousands of hours of continuing education in all areas of dentistry and is a graduate of multiple prestigious dental programs, including the Las Vegas Institute and The Pacific Aesthetic Continuum. pacific aesthetic continuum Dr. Canto is committed to staying on the cutting edge in technology and education for dentistry and is known as a pioneer in her industry. In addition to utilizing cutting-edge technology, such as dental lasers and cosmetic dentistry techniques, Dr. Canto is leading the way in education and early detection protocols for oral cancers. She is one of the first doctors in the country to own the newest cancer screening device, the Oral ID, and is also one of the first FACT-certified providers. She has been honored to help impact her profession by contributing ideas and evaluation for development of new materials and techniques in dentistry by serving on several boards, including the Council for Innovative Dentistry for 3M and the Catapult group. She sustains her dedication to learning with countless hours of continuing education through her participation in SPEARS Study Clubs, CEREC Education and Fortune Management. Dr. Canto also continues her growth by surrounding herself with doctors from around the globe by being part of the prestigious group The Fortune Practice Platinum Circle. Dr. Amanda Canto is proud to have been recently invited to be part of Fortune Management’s Platinum Circle Group.
