About Albert J. Nemeth, MD

Dr. Nemeth is a Board Certified Dermatologist certified by the American Board of Dermatology, and is the Director of the Advanced Specialized Laser Center™ in Clearwater, Florida, USA which he founded in 1993. Dr. Nemeth was previously Assistant Professor (full time faculty) in the Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery at the University of Miami where he also completed his Dermatology Residency Training and where he also served as Director of the Center for Advanced Laser Medicine. He has also served as Affiliate Associate Professor of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery at the University of South Florida College of Medicine. Dr. Nemeth first learned Lasers while a Medical Student at the prestigious and world renowned University of Vienna Medical School over 35 years ago after having completed his Undergraduate Degree at Columbia University in New York City where he also grew up. He has been a Fellow of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery since 1989. He was an early pioneer of Specialized Lasers when this technology first became available in the late 1980’s, and has pioneered and contributed to a number of advancements in the field of Laser Medicine and Aesthetic Surgery. This has resulted in numerous original scientific presentations at State, National , and International Medical meetings including the Florida Society of Dermatologic Surgery, the Florida Society of Dermatology & Dermatologic Surgery, Florida Society of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, The American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, the American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery, The American Academy of Dermatology, the Society for Investigative Dermatology, the American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology, the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the European Academy of Dermatology, the Japanese 56th Dermatology Congress, the International Society of Cosmetic Laser Surgeons, the International Advances in Plastic Surgery Conference, and the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery. He has served as Program Chairman of the 1st, 2nd, & 3rd International Conference on Advances in Laser Medicine & Aesthetic Surgery, and similarly served as a member of the Program Committee of the 4th & 5th International Laser Conferences. Deeply involved in medical education, Dr. Nemeth is a Fellow of numerous Dermatology medical societies, has authored a plethora of abstracts, articles and book chapters, was a visiting Professor at the University of Oxford, England in 1990, and completed a Fellowship in Wound Healing which resulted in his being Guest Editor of a Dermatologic Clinics on the topic. He consistently enjoys being named to the “Best Doctors in America” since its inception in 2001. He firmly believes in giving back to this great specialty of ours, and has been a fixture for the Dermatology Foundation both locally where he served as Chairman of the Dermatology Foundation Leaders Society for the State of Florida for 15 years, and Nationally as a member of the Dermatology Foundation Leaders Society Committee. He continues to serve on the Dermatology Foundation Board of Trustees. Dr. Nemeth has also served as President of the Florida Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery in 2009-10 and was a member of the FSDDS Board for 8 years. In 2014, he was honored with the most prestigious Distinguished Service Award of the Florida Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery. Dr. Nemeth currently owns more than Ten Specialized Lasers (the Perfect Ten!) and continues to contribute to the field in all aspects of specialized laser medicine including Birthmarks, Port Wine Stains, Hemangiomas, Nevus of Ota, Rosacea, Facial Spider Veins, Acne Scarring, Scars, Facial Rejuvenation, Age Spots & Growths, Pigmentation Disorders, Tattoo Removal, Hair Removal and numerous Medical Conditions. At the recently held, 34th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Florida Society of Dermatologic Surgeons 2015 he was honored with the most prestigious Surgeon of the Year Award. Dr. Nemeth continues to routinely provide Skin Cancer Screening (Dermoscopy!), Mole and Melanoma checks (Dermoscopy!), Skin Cancer and Reconstructive Surgery, Rosacea, Acne, General Dermatology, and Anti-Aging Care. Dr. Nemeth also has considerable expertise in Botox and Soft Tissue Augmentation (Dermal Fillers e.g. Restylane-L, Restylane Silk, Juvéderm) - over 20-30 years, respectively.
