About Alan Mead, DDS

Alan Mead, D.D.S., was born and raised in Midland. He graduated from Miami University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Zoology and the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. Prior to starting his dental practice in Saginaw, Dr. Mead practiced dentistry with his dad in Midland. In 1998 he began practicing general dentistry in Saginaw. Dr. Mead and his wife Debra live on a boarding horse farm west of Midland with their two sons, Sean and Jacob. Most mornings and evenings you’ll find Dr. Mead feeding 17 horses, several barn cats, two dogs and one miniature donkey named Floyd. Dr. Mead has lectured extensively in Michigan and across the country on various topics including social media for dentists, medical marijuana and addiction. He has also written several articles for professional journals like the Journal of the Michigan Dental Association. Dr. Mead is the chairman of the Michigan Dental Association’s Care and Well Being committee which helps dentists and dental teams with addiction and mental health issues. In 2014 Dr. Mead started a podcast for dentists called “The DentalHacks Podcast” which has taken the dental world by storm!
