About Akil A. Patel, DMD
Dr. Akil Patel arrived at Welcome Dental in 2011, having spent the prior 11 years in private practice in suburban Atlanta, GA. Born in Athens, GA and raised in Indianapolis, IN, he received his Bachelor’s Degree in biology from Ball State University, and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Indiana University. The University of Florida was his “home” during general practice residency he completed in 1999. Dr. Patel resides in Chadds Ford with his wife, Dr. Rina Patel, and their sons, Akash and Shailen. Sports, reading, travel, and photography are some of Dr. Patel’s interests. In the course of his years of practice, Dr. Patel has achieved the prestigious Fellowship status in the Academy of General Dentistry, attesting to his desire to continually strive for excellence in dental care and to keep himself at the front of his profession. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Pennsylvania Dental Association, and the Dental Society of Delaware County and Chester County. Dr. Patel is a walking encyclopedia of dental anatomy and oral pathology. He shares Dr. Rob’s attention to detail and chances are he knows the mascot of your alma mater.
