What can I expect from a Facelift procedure?
A full facelift plastic surgery requires incisions that are placed just above the ears, then turn inside the skin creases and cartilage of the front of the ear, and then go up and behind the ears. This way, they have the best possibility of being healing in natural skin creases and areas which are well hidden from the public. The skin of the middle and lower face is loosened from the underlying tissue. The deeper tissues are repositioned to where they were when you were younger. Excess skin is removed. Sometimes Adam Schaffner, MD, FACS also uses the patient’s own tissue to restore volume in the mid-face/cheek area. A full face lift can improve wrinkles, lift tissue that fell with age, and restore volume lost with age. Sometimes, muscle bands in the central neck area addressed with a platysmaplasty where the bands are brought together like they were when you were younger. Fat under the chin (submental fat) may be addressed with liposuction.
Which is a better breast implant for me: saline breast implants or silicone breast implants?
The selection of which breast implant type (saline breast implants or silicone breast implants) will be used during surgery is up to you. The NYC Plastic Surgeon will be happy to explain the difference to you and he even has both types for you to examine and feel during your consultation.
