Wrinkled and veiny hands are a telltale sign of aging. Volume loss is a natural consequence of getting older, with collagen production decreasing year after year after the age of 20, causing thinning skin and more prominent veins. For patients who are looking for a minimally invasive way to reverse the effects of time, dermal filler can be used to plump the hands for a younger look. Fat grafting can also achieve the same effect, but is more invasive as a liposuction procedure is required beforehand. For patients who also want to address age spots and pigment irregularities on the hands, laser resurfacing is another available option.

Radiesse is the only FDA approved dermal filler for use in the hands. The injectable is not a hyaluronic acid based filler but is comprised of calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres suspended in gel. These microspheres eventually break down and are absorbed by the body. 

During treatment, the practitioner will create a pilot hole for the cannula to be inserted. Next, the cannula with the dermal filler will be inserted and fanned across the hand, distributing the product. Once all of the filler has been inserted, the cannula will be removed and the practitioner will massage the filler into the hands. Results are noticeable immediately and will last up to a year since Radiesse is a collagen stimulator.

- No alcohol 72 hours prior
- Stop taking blood thinning medications 10 days before

Before Treatment
